Islamabad police have registered a murder case against five accused for the killing of nephew of former Senate chairman Mohammad Mian Soomro. A police official said that Shalimar police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Raja Arshad, Nauman Khokhar and three other suspects for killing Senate Mohammad Mian Soomro's nephew Barrister Fahad Malik and injuring Malik Tariq. Police registered the FIR under section 302/324,148/149 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the complaint of Malik Tariq, who was wounded during the incident, the official said.
Police while quoting the complainant said that Raja Arshad and his accomplices opened fire at them at sector F-10/3 as a result Barrister Fahad Malik died and Malik Tariq received injuries. Raja Arshad and his accomplices escaped from the scene after the incident, he said.
The complainant further told the police that his three sons including Hussain Malik, Zonan Malik and Bazeed Malik and Usman, a servant of the deceased Fahad, shifted him (Malik Tariq) and the deceased to a nearby hospital and later they were shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). The complainant further said that main reason behind the incident was a brawl between his son Hussain and Raja Arshad followed by threats of dire consequences. According to an initial post-mortem report, the victim received four bullets; two in the face, one in the neck and one in the back, police said.
The SSP has constituted an investigation team headed by Deputy Superintend of Police (DSP) Ghulam Muhamamd Baqir, comprising of inspector Fayaz Ranja and other police officials. Police have collected evidence from the crime scene and started investigation. He said that the police are conducting raids for the arrest of Arshad and his accomplices, who are still at large.
