Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance, Muzaffar Said Advocate has given the credit for launching revolutionary initiatives and reforms in the police training and education system to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nasir Khan Durrani. He was addressing Passing-Out Parade Review of Lower School Course ceremony in Police Training College, Hangu. He said that "it is a great pleasure to see such mega and awesome activities at PTC Hangu after a lapse of ten years".
The ceremony was attended by local officials, notables, and children and young students of Hangu Public School and College and Overseas Public Foundation (OPF) School of Hangu. A large number of women including female teachers of local girls' schools and colleges and families of officials attended the ceremony.
The Commandant PTC, Dr Fasihuddin (PSP) threw light on the various aspects of police training and said that a comprehensive plan is being considered by the IGP KP for the revival and up-gradation of PTC, Hangu which was established in 1935 and declared a Police College in 1991.
He said that soon a new School of Investigation, a new Forensic Science Laboratory, new courses and high-tech teaching facilities will be added to the class rooms for modern training and education. He said that the curriculum and syllabi of in-service courses have been recently revised by the IGP, KP in order to meet the new challenges of serious crimes and terrorism.
The Deputy Commissioner Haji Ihsanullah lauded the role of public, school children, college students, media representatives and female teachers in joining hands with the PTC for making the ceremony a success. The ceremony included skillful demonstrations of Marshal Arts, Anti-Terrorist Squad tactics, target-firing, and hostage release role-play by the trainees which was highly loved and applauded by the general public and students. The grand ceremony was a yearly activity till 2005 which was not observed during the last ten years due to serious terrorist attacks in KP. The revival was profoundly welcomed by the trainees, officers and general masses of Hangu.
The Finance Minister maintained that services of KP Police Force for restoration of peace and defeating terrorism and extremism were remarkable and it ensure protection to the lives and properties of the people at the cost of their life. He added that KP Police is the role model for the entire Police of the country. He said their sacrifices would be remembered and acknowledged forever.
