The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Standing Committee on Cottage Industry has demanded of the government to provide loans on easy terms and low mark-up to the cottage industry so that the old industrial units could be replaced with the modern ones.
The Standing Committee met here on Monday to deliberate upon the problems being faced by the cottage industrial units across the province. The meeting observed that the cost of cottage industry products is relatively high because of the outdated machinery which immediately needs to be replaced The participants asked the government to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to the cottage industry. The meeting presided over by chairman Muhammad Yasin also urged the government to arrange training programme for the industry workers to help improve the quality of products.
