The Karachi Port handled 87,787 tonnes of cargo comprising 52,786 tonnes of import cargo and 35,001 tonnes of export cargo including 5,538 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday The total import cargo of 52,786 tonnes comprised of 33,143 tonnes of containerised cargo; 265 tonnes of general cargo and 19,378 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 35,001 tonnes comprised of 22,891 tonnes of containerised cargo; 120 tonnes of general cargo; 11,840 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 150 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 5,538 containers comprising of 2,217 containers import and 3,321 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The break-up of imported containers shows 863 of 20's and 675 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 2 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 591 of 20's and 409 of 40's loaded containers while 728 of 20's and 592 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely Hanjin Indigo, Batam Trader, HS Wagner, Milos, Winter and Grand Ruby carrying containers, oil tankers and vehicle respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were six vessels viz. HS Wagner, APL Pearl, United Journey, Bunga Lucerne, Alam Molek, Grand Ruby and IBI carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical, coal, vehicle and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were three ships namely Hyundai Brave, Bunga Lucerne and IBI carrying containers, chemical and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday. There were three vessels viz. MSC Imma, OOCL Italy and Densa Cougar carrying containers and coal respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while five vessels viz. Kota Kamil, Osaka Tower, Wan Hai-506, Asavari and Selay-S carrying containers, chemical and mogas respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 88,084 tonnes comprising 76,709 tonnes of import cargo and 11,875 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 3,004 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 76,709 tonnes includes 36,975 tonnes of furnace oil; 12,910 tonnes of palm oil; 8,600 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 3,379 tonnes of chemical and 14,345 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 11,875 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,004 containers comprising of 1,204 containers import and 1,800 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were two ships namely MT Sea Scout and MV Pacific Stream carrying furnace oil and phosphoric acid sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships namely CV Al-Hilal and MT PVT Eagle carrying containers and chemical are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of five vessels viz. CV Al-Hilal, MV Katerine, MV Pacific Stream, MT PVT Eagle and MT Sea Scout currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, soyabean seeds, chemical, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as twelve ships namely CV Maersk Columbus, CV AL-Khor, MV Golden Trader-1, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Shaybah, MT Mezaira, MT Bahra, MT Liberty-N, MT Pacific Singapore, MT Karachi, MT CI Dublin and MT Dubai Eastern carrying Containers, soyabean seeds, LPG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Monday.
There were five vessels viz. CV Maersk Columbus, CV AL-Khor, MT Liberty-N, MT Karachi and MT CI Dublin carrying containers, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday. There are three ships namely MV BBC Ontario, MV Mu Da Song and MT Maran Gas Asclepius carrying general cargo and LNG due to arrive on Tuesday.
