Gilani condemns Altaf's statement

Former Prime Minister and senior PPP leader Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has strongly condemned the anti-Pakistan statement by MQM Chief Altaf Hussain and said such people cannot be Pakistanis. "Those living in Pakistan and opposing it cannot be Pakistanis, Gilani said while speaking at a function here on Friday.
He said the PPP has strengthened Pakistan by making it a nuclear power. He said credit for making Pakistan an atomic power and giving a new constitution to the country goes to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Gilani said they made sacrifices for Pakistan and went to jail and their real identity is Pakistan. He stressed the need for strengthening institutions as that would strengthen the country. He said during his tenure, he helped the civil servants in reducing their problems by making increases in salary every year. He strongly condemned the atrocities being committed against innocent people in Indian held Kashmir. He said the government should revisit its Kashmir policy.
