The heavily guarded federal capital saw an increase in the incidents of robberies, purse snatching, auto thefts, kidnappings and dishonored cheque during the last week. As per details collected from official sources, the armed robbers struck at 11 different places, five people were kidnapped and a person was killed and over 11 cases of fake cheque were reported to the city various police stations during the last single week.
The motor vehicle thieves also lifted five vehicles. During this period, the robbers and auto thieves had a field day in the limits of Koral, Industrial Area, Khana, Golra and Shalimar police stations. Koral police station registered two cases of kidnapping and one case of robbery during the last week. Zahir Ahmad, a resident of Irfan Abad lodged a complaint with the Koral police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments, cash and prize bond from his house.
Syed Shabir Hussain of Ghori Town registered a complaint with Koral police station that the accused Sheraz Shah and Saleem kidnapped his sister while an another person Sanaullah informed the same police station that accused Nauman along with two accomplices kidnapped his daughter.
During the last week, Industrial Area police station registered one case each of kidnapping and fake cheques as well as cases of auto theft were also reported to the same police station. Maryam Bibi of Islamabad's Sector I-8/1 informed Industrial Area police station that unknown people kidnapped her husband Ameer Hussain.
The auto thieves took away a car bearing registration number ALA-990 of Farhan Ghani belonging to Sector I-8/1 and lifted another car (MS-819) of Dr Naeema Antique from Sector H-9.
Golra police station registered one case each of kidnapping and robbery and three cases of fake cheque. Saima Bibi belonging to capital's Sector E-11/2 registered a complaint with Golra police station that gold ornaments were stolen from her house and she suspects that her house maid Shahnaz might be involved in the incident. In another incident, Pervaiz Khan lodged a complaint with Golra police station that unknown people kidnapped his son Umer 14. During the period under review, Shalimar police station registered two cases of robbery and three cases of dishonored cheque.
Shah Afzal of Sector F-11/3 lodged a complaint with Shalimar police station that unknown robbers stole cash and a mobile phone from his shop. Another person, Khurram Jameel Qureshi of Sector F-11/1 informed the same police station that two armed robbers riding a bike snatched his purse and a mobile phone from him at gunpoint.
Khana police station registered one case each of murder and kidnapping. Muhammad Arif of Morgah Town lodged a complaint with Khana police station that unknown people kidnapped his son Usman Ahmad, 20. Bashir Ahmad informed the same police station that unknown people shot dead his nephew Sabit Shah. Noon, Margalla, Bani Gala, Bara Kahu, Sabzi Mandi and Shahzad Town police stations registered one case each of robbery while Sihala and Kohsar police stations registered one case of auto theft.
