Director General Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab, Brigadier Muzaffar Ali Ranjha (r), has constituted, here on Sunday, an Anti-Corruption Executive Committee for high profile corruption cases in the departments.
He has transferred all his powers to the Executive Committee to ensure collective wisdom in the decision making process. The Executive Committee would supervise, take prompt and effective decisions about inquiry, investigation, recovery, judicial action and prosecution of high profile cases of corruption in provincial departments.
According to the notification DG Anti-Corruption would head the Executive Committee while Additional DG ACE, Director Legal, Director Technical and Regional Director concerned would be members.
Likewise the Divisional Anti-Corruption Executive Committee would also work under the supervision of Regional Director Anti-Corruption and Deputy Director Technical, Deputy Director Legal and Deputy Director Investigation of the concerned district would be members of the committee.
DG ACE said that he believed in team work and would prefer to work as team member rather than a commanding officer that's why all powers of DG ACE have been transferred to the Executive Committee.
"Instead of one man show, an empowered Executive Committee would decide the fate of high profile corruption cases without fear and influence and the rate of conviction would be raised by ensuring effective prosecution and process of inquiry and investigation will become more transparent. "It will be impossible to approach all members of the Executive Committee to get favourable findings/results in high profile corruption cases", told DG ACE.
He revealed that decision has been taken to expedite inquiry/ investigation of 4 high profile cases in Lahore and 4 in Sahiwal in recent meetings of Executive Committee. He also directed Regional Directors to immediately hold meetings of Divisional Executive Committees to identify cases.
