The Karachi Port handled 261,642 tonnes of cargo comprising 206,437 tonnes of import cargo and 55,205 tonnes of export cargo including 5,781 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday
The total import cargo of 206,437 tonnes comprised of 76,480 tonnes of containerised cargo; 30,016 tonnes of general cargo; 31,000 tonnes of coal and 68,941 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo comprised of 55,205 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 5,781 containers comprising of 2,893 containers import and 2,888 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 931 of 20's and 917 of 40's loaded while 94 of 20's and 17 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 771 of 20's and 400 of 40's loaded containers while 661 of 20's and 328 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were eleven ships namely Osaka Tower, OOCL Italy, Al- Farahidi, Wan Hai-506, Wan Hai-511, Leopard, Merkur-O, Al Mahboobah, Densa Cougar, Osam Jumbo-5 and Oriental Jasmine carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical, coal, tug and white sprint respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were thirteen vessels viz. APL Agate, Leopard, Hyundai Confidence, Hanjin Louisiana, Bomar Rissen, Chang Hang Guang Rong, Nassau Energy, Baltic Cove, Kmarin Genoa, Oriental Jasmine, Jin Sheng, Chang Hang Cang and Amis Fortune carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, DAP, white sprint and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There was one ship namely Hanjin Louisiana carrying containers sailed out to sea on Monday.
There were five vessels viz. Batam Trader, Cape Marin, Chemroute Sun, Gladiator and Elektra carrying containers, oil tanker, coal and steel respectively due to arrive on Monday while three vessels viz. YM Excellence, DL Clover and Asavari carrying containers and chemical respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 154,910 tonnes comprising 104,769 tonnes of import cargo and 50,141 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 3,913 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 104,769 tonnes includes 37,213 tonnes of diesel oil; 10,000 tonnes of palm oil; 4,870 tonnes of canola seeds; 480 tonnes of LPG; 28,000 tonnes of LNG and 24,206 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo includes 50,141 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,913 containers comprising of 1,274 containers import and 2,639 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were five ships namely CV X-Press Kailash, CV MSC Lisbon, MV Katerina, MV Marang Gas Ascleplius and MT Mezair-I sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
A total number of eight vessels viz. CV X-Press Kailash, CV MSC Lisbon, MV Alam Moler, MV Katerine, MT AS Orelia, MT Turk Gas, MV Marang Gas Ascleplius and MT Mezair-I currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, soyabean seeds, LPG, LNG, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eight ships namely CV MSC Leanne, CV Al Manama, MV Golden Trader-1, MV BBC Ontario, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Shaybah, MT Bahra, and MT Quetta carrying Containers, soyabean seeds, general cargo, diesel oil and furnace oil at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Monday.
There were five vessels viz. CV MSC Leanne, CV Al Manama, MV Golden Trader-1, MV Atlantic Glory and MT Quetta carrying containers, soyabean seeds, chemical and furnace oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, FAP Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.
There are five ships namely CV MSC Chicago, CV Safmarine Ngami, CV North Jamboree, CV Uni Florida and MV Mu Da Song carrying containers and general cargo due to arrive on Monday.
