Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday said the country cannot afford protests and sit-ins any more as these are major hindrances in the development process. The PML-N senior leader Mohammad Pervaiz Malik said the country has been put on the path of progress and development while the country's economy and security have been strengthened.
"Major issue of power shortage is being resolved on permanent basis," he said, adding: "History will not forgive those who will create obstacles in the path of development again." The PML-N leader said the bill presented by the government in the National Assembly aims to weed out corruption across the board.
He further said the government is not only focusing on mega power and infrastructure projects but also introducing programs to provide better education and healthcare facilities to the people. The Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan told media that people have rejected the politics on confrontation being practiced by Imran Khan, as the PTI has managed to gather only 6,000 people in Saturday's rally.
Rana said people had to suffer a lot of difficulties due to security arrangements adopted by the government. He said, "We requested the PTI leadership to hold a public meeting instead of staging a rally on a long route from Shahdara to Chairing Cross but they remained adamant to their plans. Rana further said Imran is bent upon to halt the process of development by acting upon the agenda of anti-state elements. He said the PML-N would foil all conspiracies against country as well as nation. Rana also expressed grief over death of a boy at Shahdara due to the rally. He added the security arrangements were tightened to avoid any mishap.
