The prices of all pulses have witnessed a decline in the wholesales and retail markets during this past week compared to preceding week, revealed a survey conducted by Business Recorder, here on Saturday. The survey noted that price of dal maash reduced by Rs 30 per kg from Rs Rs 240 per kg to Rs 210 per kg, moong from Rs 140 per kg to Rs 130 per kg, lobia from Rs 120 per kg to Rs 110 per kg, Masoor from Rs 140 per kg to Rs 130 per kg, dal channa from Rs 150 per kg to Rs 130 per kg and Kabali channa from Rs 190 per kg to Rs 170 per kg.
During the week under review, most of the vegetable prices at the wholesale and retail market witnessed a reduction, while non-perishable kitchen items including ghee/cooking oil, wheat flour and fruits prices remained stable. Ginger price reduced from Rs 650 per 5 kg to Rs 600 per 5 kg, good quality potatoes from Rs 180 per 5 kg to Rs 150 per 5 kg, garlic from Rs 1,350 per 5 kg to Rs 1,150 per 5 kg, peas from Rs 800 per 5 kg to Rs 700 per 5 kg, kadu from Rs 200 per 5 kg to Rs 180 per 5 kg, Karaila from Rs 280 per 5 kg to Rs 240 per 5 kg, tinda from Rs 275 per 5 kg to Rs 250 per 5 kg, carrot from Rs 500 per 5 kg to Rs 400 per 5 kg, and cucumber from Rs 300 per 5 kg to Rs 200 per 5 kg.
Onion price witnessed an increase of Rs 20 per 5 kg from Rs 110 per 5 kg to Rs 130 per 5 kg, tomatoes are being sold at 200 per 5 kg in the wholesale market which in the retail market are being sold at Rs 45 per kg, garlic at Rs 280 per kg, potatoes at Rs 30 per kg, ginger at Rs 150 per kg and onions at Rs 30 per kg.
Karaila in retail market is being sold at Rs 55 per kg against Rs 65 per kg, cucumber at Rs 45 per kg against Rs 70 per kg, tinda price increased from Rs 60 per kg to Rs 66 per kg, arvi reduced from Rs 60 per kg to Rs 55 per kg and bean reduced from Rs 70 per kg to Rs 60 per kg. Cauliflower price remained stable at Rs 350 per 5 kg and Rs 250 per kg, which in the retail market is being sold at Rs 80 per kg and Rs 55 per kg, cabbage price reduced from Rs 250 per 5 kg to Rs 200 per 5 kg which in retail is being sold at Rs 45 per kg against Rs 60 per kg and capsicum is being sold at Rs 350/450 per 5 kg which in the retail market is being sold at Rs 70 and Rs 100 per kg per kg.
Okra is being available with a reduction of Rs 50 per 5 kg from Rs 250 per 5 kg to Rs 200 per 5 kg in the wholesale market which in the retail market is being sold at 45-50 per kg against Rs 60 per kg, while torri price reduced from Rs 230 per 5 kg to Rs 200 per 5 kg which in the retail market is being sold at Rs 50 per kg against Rs 60 per kg.
Brinjal price is stable at Rs 150 per 5 kg which in retail market are available at Rs 40 per kg, peas with a reduction of Rs 75 per 5 kg from 700 per 5 kg to Rs 625 per 5 kg are being available at 145 per kg against Rs 160 per kg, carrot at Rs 100 per kg against Rs 120 per kg.
Sugar price in the wholesale market witnessed a decline of Rs 30 per 50 kg bag from Rs 3,500 per 50 kg bag to Rs 3,470 per 50 kg bag and is being available at Rs 75 per kg. During the week under review, the chicken prices in the wholesale market remained stable at Rs 4,400 per 40 kg which in the retail market is being sold at Rs 130 per kg, while chicken meat is being available at Rs 240 per kg.
Egg price witnessed an increase of Rs 10 per dozen from Rs 85 per dozen to Rs 95 per dozen in the wholesale market which are being sold at Rs 102 per dozen in the retail market against Rs 96 per dozen. Wheat flour price remained stable at Rs 740 per 20 kg bag, Lipton Yellow Label tea one kg pack being available at Rs 670 per kg, good quality ghee/cooking oil is being sold at Rs 820 per 5 kg and good quality rice is being available at Rs 120 per kg. The prices of mutton and beef remained unchanged and according to butchers the sale of mutton and beef has significantly reduced as Eid-ul-Aza coming closer.
In the said week, prices of most of the fruits witnessed a reduction as good quality mangoes are being available at Rs 80 per kg against Rs 90 per kg, guava at Rs 60 per kg and best quality grapes at Rs 140 per kg while normal quality at Rs 100 per kg. Best quality local banana price witnessed a reduction of Rs 30 per dozen from Rs 100 per dozen to Rs 70 per dozen and normal quality from Rs 70 per dozen to Rs 48 per dozen.
Peach is being sold at Rs 120 per kg, melon at Rs 40-60 per kg, different quality of apples are being sold in the range of Rs 50 per kg to Rs 250 per kg and pear is being available at Rs 100 per kg against Rs 150 per kg.
