We would like to highlight an important matter that was discussed between a DHA team and stakeholders/prospective home owners back in 2015. It was the time when DHA had decided to impose development charges on residential and commercial property in Zones C, D, and E for the 5th time. In other words, development charges for the 5th time on the same piece of land!
At that time, in order to justify the extra development charges being applied, the DHA team had assured the stakeholders of the following: All such zones where construction was not allowed, and for which extra development charges were being charged, will be open for construction shortly; After the imposition of development charges at that time, no further development charges would be applied by DHA in future as it was already the 5th time the development charges were recovered for the same land.
Sadly, till today, DHA has not allowed construction in these areas. Is that how stakeholders' trust rewarded? It is terribly discouraging for the investors and prospective home owners who are losing all hope in DHA's reputation of delivering on its promises. We appeal to DHA Karachi to allow construction in the aforementioned zones as per its assurances in 2015.
