Police kill infamous Lyari gangster Ghaffar Zikri

Police killed on Thursday infamous Lyari gangster Ghaffar Zikri, his three-year-old son and Chota Zahid, one of his accomplices in an operation.

The police carried out an operation in the morning after getting an intelligence tip-off. The operation took place in Lyari's Ali Mohammad Mohalla. During the shootout, two police officers were injured, local media reported.

According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Javed Odho, one of the officers injured is in critical condition. The DIG informed that the gangsters also retaliated with hand grenades. Odho added that Zikri used his three-year-old as a shield.

The operation lasted for nearly an hour where police officers surrounded the area and a search operation was launched. Zikri was a notorious gangster of Karachi who had several crime cases registered against him.
