Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said on Thursday that all necessary facilities are being provided to schools and colleges of rural areas of Islamabad to increase access to education for female students. He said that new buses are being purchased for transportation of the students from the rural areas to schools and colleges.
The minister said this while talking to a delegation of Malala Fund for Access to Education in federal capital and added that awareness campaigns are also being run to get the female students enrolled in the rural areas. The delegation's head thanked the government of Pakistan for providing the required funding for the project. This programme is being run in far-flung areas of eight districts of the country.
The minister informed the delegation that the government has been up-grading educational facilities in 422 schools and colleges of Islamabad under Prime Minister Education Reform Programme. With the help of international organisations and educational experts, the standard of education in Islamabad educational institutions will be raised further, he said.
