Karachi's largest Science Exhibition TDF Magnifi-Science ended today with a hope that educational institutes would incorporate more practical implications in their teaching methods while public and private sector will work together to promote science education for the betterment of our society.
The three-day exhibition witnessed a large crowd from all walks of life including politicians, celebrities, scientists, educationists and environmentalists. Students and science enthusiasts from various parts of Sindh also came today from as far Petaro and Dadu districts. Shazia Marri, Member National Assembly, said, "Despite the need of the hour, exhibitions such as Magnifi-Science are rare in Pakistan. It was wonderful to see thousands of students, teachers and visitors expressing their interest in technology, basic sciences and environment'. Speaking on the importance of exhibition in Karachi, she said that such innovative initiatives play an important role in developing the interest of public in science that has a direct impact of nation's progress.' She congratulated The Dawood Foundation on successfully organising TDF MagnifiScience.
Sharing her views on Magnifi-Science Exhibition, Member Provincial Assembly, Sharmila Farooqui said 'good quality education is fundamental for the growth of any nation therefore it is imperative that we focus on strengthening the bases of our students in science through initiatives like Magnifi-Science'. She expressed her hope that other public and private would follow the trend set by The Dawood Foundation to promote science through exhibitions. 'It's a welcoming sign that Pakistan is showing progress in the field of technology. It is happening only because of education. Moreover, Government schools should also follow the same suit, she added.
Chairman Mr. Hussain Dawood in his concluding speech with team in closing ceremony expressed that Government and private sectors have equally played an important role in the success of this venture. Our nation can excel provided we give them appropriate platforms. He ensured that the efforts will be continued in future to create awareness amongst masses.
The consultant of The Dawood Foundation Maham Ali said that the success of TDF Magnifi-Science Exhibition is more than what we have expected. We are glad to see children from Dadu Tharparkar, and Hyderabad and interior Sindh. The guest of knowledge was quite visible on their face and they were very excited to explore the wonders of Science.-PR
