Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has said that the provincial government has succeeded in getting Rs 100 billion as net hydel profit (NHP) from the Centre and approved Chashma Lift Irrigation Scheme for which the province would contribute 30 percent and the federal government 70 percent of the cost.
He was addressing three different public gatherings at Union Council Barot PK-45, Dalola and Lohar Tanwal Sherwan during his day long visit to Abbottabad. Advisor to Chief Minister Mushtaq Ghani, Minister Qalander Lodhi, MNA Dr Azhar Jadoon and others addressed the gatherings.
The chief minister accused the center of stealing 600 MW of electricity on daily basis out of the share of the province. He said that Khawja Asif and Federal Secretary Power agreed to provide the province full share of electricity, but it was yet to be realised.
The Chief Minister asked Amir Maqam to desist from advocating the centre at the cost of the province. He should plead the case of the people, he urged.
He said that his government transferred 30 percent of its annual developmental budget to the local governments and therefore this slowed down the execution of the developmental strategy. But he said the World Bank going to arrange a soft loan of 70 billion rupees which would be diverted to developmental strategy throughout the province.
He said the people revolted against the corrupt politicians and voted PTI to power which stood for a change. Chief Minister said his government changed the old system which was safeguarding the interest of corrupt politicians and replaced it with a new system of transparent governance and overhauled all public sector institutions to be subservient to the public.
Khattak said that his government ensured facilities in 13000 schools which was previously missing. It recruited 20000 teachers and would complete recruitment of 30000 teachers this year. In health sector the teaching hospitals were given autonomy which was a unique step by the government in the health sector.
