The central Shoora of the Jamaat e Islami has called upon the Muslim world and the international community to strive for ending the bloodshed in Syria and human rights violations in Egypt, Iraq and Afghanistan. A resolution adopted by the Shoora urged all Muslim states to devote all their energies for getting rid of the Zionist control over Palestine, Syria's Basharal Asad, Egypt's General Sisi and Bangladesh Hasina Wajid rule.
It deplored that over eight million Syrians were stranded in the refugee camps in the neighbouring countries while around three lakh had been killed in the civil war. In Egypt, more than forty thousand innocent people had been put behind the bar and were being subjected to worst form of torture and even executions after fake trials. The Yemen war had resulted in the destruction of the resources of several countries. The Shoora noted that even the supreme Islamic institution of Hajj had been turned into a means of intensifying differences and levelling serious allegations and counter allegations.
The Shoora appealed to the Pakistan government, the UN and the Muslim world to take serious notice of the Bangladesh government strategy to wipe out its political opponents through so called war crimes trials. In another resolution, the Shoora demanded of the government not to link extremism and terrorism with religion and to apply these terms to all forms of extremism and terrorism. It said that NAP against terrorism was being implemented for over year but Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was still facing terrorism activities.
The Shoora said that the madaris had never objected to registration or reforms. It however said that the procedure and conditions of registration practically made it almost impossible. It demanded that the propaganda against madaris be stopped and the NAP against terrorism be reviewed by taking into confidence the Ittehad Tanzeemat Madaris Pakistan.
The Shoora called upon the government to abolish the 17 per cent Sales tax to minimise the problems of the farmers. It also stressed that the support prices of different crops should be fixed at the time of sowing and the purchase of the crop on the same price be also ensured.
It also called upon the government to practically enforce Urdu as official and judicial level besides political and business fields in the light of the Supreme Court decision and a constitutional obligation. The Shoora also stressed that all government and private educational institutions should be directed to adopt Urdu as the medium of instructions up to primary level so that the nation could distinguish itself as a free, independent and dignified nation. Through another resolution the JI central body stressed upon the government to undertake comprehensive social reforms by banning the presentation of immoral and vulgar material and violent scenes from the media.
