There are only five centers for endoscopic ultrasound treatment method across the country, Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and Lahore General Hospital Professor Ghias un Nabi, said. While addressing the first international endoscopic ultrasound workshop, organized by Lahore General Hospital (LGH) with the collaboration of Asian Ultrasound Group, here at a local hotel on Thursday, he said that endoscopic ultrasound method is even more useful to identify and cure cancer of stomach and liver.
Dr Muhammad Khalid Hassan from Florida Hospital, Orlando, Dr Ali Ahmed Siddiqui from University of Pennsylvania, USA, Dr Athar Ahmed Saeed from Gateshed hospital, Newcastle Upon Tyne along with other medical experts delivered lectures focusing diagnose and treatment to medical complications relating liver and stomach.
Answering queries of junior doctors, foreign experts said that endoscopic ultrasound method is a modern therapy wherein a detailed image of organs inside the human body like liver, digestive system, lungs is conceived. Professor Ghias un Nabi said that keeping in view the future challenges; LGH has organized this workshop to provide guidance to junior doctors into this therapy.
