LONDON: British 10-year government bond yields rose to their highest level since January 2016 on Friday as a global sovereign debt sell-off continued for a second day.
Ten-year yields rose as high as 1.708 percent, up more than 3 basis points on the day, after a 9 basis-point rise on Thursday, taking them to their highest since Jan. 28, 2016.
Two-year gilt yields touched their highest since April 17 at 0.915 percent, up 2 basis points on the day.
