Approval granted to establishment of 220 KV grid station in Swabi: Umar Ayub
PESHAWAR: Federal Minister for Energy, Umar Ayub Friday announced that approval has been granted for establishment of a 220 KV grid station in Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkwa.
He said this while speaking at a ceremony held in Swabi district on Friday.
Federal Minister assured the participants of the ceremony that the issue of low electricity voltage in the district will be resolved before arrival of summer season.
He said the problems being faced by affectees of Tarbela dam and Ghazi Barotha will be resolved at the earliest.
Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Energy said the volume of circular debt in country has reached to a huge 1250 billion.
Presently the amount of debt Pakistan has to pay has accumulated to about 29,000 billion (29 trillion) rupees.
Around five years ago, the amount of country’s debt was around 14,000 billion which later swelled to Rs. 29,000 billion, he continued.
“Where these staggering 15,000 billion rupees have been spent during last five years,” Umar Ayub asked the question during his speech.
Referring to budget decisions, Umar Ayub said Prime Minister, Imran Khan has given clear cut directives of exempting poor from taxation.
