Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) has successfully started three months short courses in Poultry Farming (Controlled Shed) and Dairy Technician Trades at University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF). Approximately, 400 unemployed youth will be trained during one year.
Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh was addressing the officers in a meeting here on Monday at TEVTA Secretariat Chief Operating Officer Jawad Ahmed Qureshi, Akhtar Abbas Bharwana, Amir Aziz, Hamid Ghani Anjum, Mustafa Kamal Pasha, Maqsood Ahmed, Sarfraz Anwar and other were present at this occasion.
Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that the purpose of starting these courses is to provide trained manpower to poultry farm, dairies and equipped them with technical skills and professional knowledge. Middle preferably metric pass candidates having age of 18 to 35 years are eligible for admission. He said that no fee will be charged from them and Rs 1000 pm stipend will also be given to the trainees during their training period. University of Agriculture Faisalabad will take examination while certificate will jointly be issued by TEVTA and University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF).
Chairperson TEVTA also said that Agriculture and Livestock sector is a thriving market due to an ever increasing demand of chicken food and dairy products. He said that that these are market driven courses and the curricula for these short courses was developed by AUF. Training and learning material including books and notes, stationary, consumable etc will also be provided to all the trainees. TEVTA and AUF are also jointly making efforts to engage the pass-outs to place in poultry and dairy industries.
