Court issues non-bailable arrest warrants against Ayyan Ali once again
A customs court issued on Saturday non-bailable arrest warrants for model Ayyan Ali, who has been accused in a money laundering case.
During the hearing today, Judge Arshad issued non-bailable arrest warrants against Ali, who has been absconding the court proceedings and has fled the country. The court was informed by the customs prosecutor Amin Feroz that the model has been absconding the court proceedings for more than a year, local media reported..
The prosecutor then requested the judge to issue non-bailable arrest warrants against Ali. The court accepted the appeal and ordered the custom officials to present Ali in court by October 22 and adjourned the hearing.
In 2015, Ali was caught at Benazir Bhutto International Airport with $506,800 in cash, which she was allegedly laundering to United Arab Emirates. However, after spending around four months in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, she was granted bail after which she traveled abroad.
