The Karachi Port handled 107,921 tonnes of cargo comprising 58,496 tonnes of import cargo and 49,425 tonnes of export cargo including 4,605 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday The total import cargo of 58,496 tonnes comprised of 19,453 tonnes of containerised cargo; 7,345 tonnes of general cargo; 9,214 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 7,000 tonnes of rock phosphate; 2,214 tonnes of DAP and 22,484 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 49,425 tonnes comprised of 32,275 tonnes of containerised cargo; 11,200 tonnes of iron powder and 5,950 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 4,605 containers comprising of 1,526 containers import and 3,079 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 403 of 20's and 548 of 40's loaded while 1 of 20's and 13 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 924 of 20's and 372 of 40's loaded containers while 145 of 20's and 633 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were seven ships namely Ital Milione, Hyundai Jakarta, Taroko, Rainbow Fairy, Malacca Highway, Globe Pegasus and Red Azalea carrying containers, stone, vehicle and DAP respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were four vessels viz. OOCL Italy, Ever Divine, Kota Kaya and Hosei-28 carrying containers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were two ships namely HS Everest and Serenity-1 carrying containers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday while three ships namely Ever Divine, Bahra and Chemway Lara carrying containers and oil tankers respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
There was one vessel viz. Wan Hai-511 carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday, while six vessels viz. Al Farahidi, Bow Diamond, MT Quetta, Guneshei, Butinah and Ikan Sembak carrying containers, oil tanker, DAP and coal respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 167,335 tonnes comprising 115,675 tonnes of import cargo and 51,661 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 5,019 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 115,675 tonnes includes 30,409 tonnes of diesel oil; 77 tonnes of LPG; 25,000 tonnes of LNG; 000 tonnes of palm oil; 3,485 tonnes of chemicals; 684 tonnes of project cargo and 43,700 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 000 tonnes includes 000 tonnes of crude oil and 51,661 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 5,019 containers comprising of 2,300 containers import and 2,719 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
There was one ship namely CV CMA CGM Amazon carrying containers sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while four more ships namely CV Suez Canal, MT Asavari, MT Al-Kayyat and MT Lion-M carrying containers, chemical, project cargo and furnace oil are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Amazon, CV Suez Canal, CV Maersk Stockholm, MV Novios Privera, MV Rickmers Tokyo, MV Peppion Buttiglieri, MT Asavari, MT Al-Kayyat and MT Lion-M currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, project cargo, chemical, canola seeds and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eight ships namely CV Priority, MV Patricia-IV, MV Sea Merchant, MV Diamond Sun, MT Leader, MT Seleine, MT Al-Soor-II and MT Savarna Kaeri carrying containers, sunflower seeds, cement and diesel oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Thursday.
There were three vessels viz. CV Priority, MV Industrial and MT Genie carrying containers, project cargo and furnace oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday. There were two ships namely MV Industrial and MT Genie carrying project cargo and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Thursday.
