Undue checking, exorbitant customs duty on auto parts: LCCI calls for resolving issues of consignment
The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) Saturday urged the concerned authorities to resolve the issues of undue checking of consignment of trading goods and exorbitant customs duty on auto parts as these are hampering the growth of this vibrant sector. These views were expressed by the LCCI Senior Vice President Amjad Ali Jawa and Vice President Muhammad Nasir Hameed Khan while addressing the delegation of Pakistan Auto Spare parts Importers & Dealers Association (PASPIDA) here at the Lahore Chamber.
Chairman PASPIDA Sheikh Abdul Jabbar, Senior Vice Chairman Zafar Abbas, Vice Chairman Saleemullah, the LCCI Executive Committee Members Awais Piracha, Zeeshan Khalil, former EC member Asad Noor Paganwala, PASPIDA members Dr Arshad Majid, Usman Malik, Mujtaba Babar and others also spoke on the occasion. The LCCI office-bearers said that members of PASPIDA are not only providing jobs to thousands of families but also one of the major sources of revenue to the national exchequer.
Amjad Ali Jawa and Muhammad Nasir Hameed Khan said that all concerned departments should adopt friendly approach towards the business community. They said that undue checking of goods and issuance of notices should be stopped at it is not only hurting business but also creating an atmosphere of harassment.
