An advisory committee of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday suspended practice license of Vice President of the Lahore Bar Association, Rana Saeed Anwar, for misbehaving with an additional district and session's judge. The committee headed by Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah issued notice to Rana Saeed advocate who did not appear before the committee. The committee therefore suspended his license and informed all courts of the province not to accept him as a lawyer.
The committee also referred his matter to the Punjab Bar Council for further action against him. Meanwhile, the committee adjourned the matter of President Ferozewala Bar Association, Asif Bashir Mirza, till Friday as he sought adjournment for being ill.
The committee had also issued him notice for misbehaving with a judge. Though Mirza sought adjournment due to his illness, he participated in general house meeting of the Lahore High Court Bar Association to discuss the matter of issuance of notices to the lawyers by the LHC.
During the meeting, which was also joined by different representatives of legal fraternity, the lawyers said the LHC cannot issue notice to any lawyer for misbehaving. They said it is the authority of the Punjab Bar Council and they will not accept any such decision against the lawyers.
