Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in his message on the eve of Youm-e-Ashur said that Hazrat Imam Husain (RA) rendered supreme sacrifice for the supremacy of Islam. Shahbaz averred that he and his companions proved that those who are committed to a noble cause could face any amount of difficulties and hardships. He said sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions are a beacon of light for the Muslims.
He said Karbala tragedy gives the message to Muslim Ummah to be prepared for every sacrifice for upholding truth and justice. He said courage and steadfastness of martyrs of Karbala gives inspiration to the oppressed nations. Shahbaz Sharif said that Hazrat Imam Husain gave the message to raise voice of truth and uphold highest human values in even the most difficult circumstances.
