Pakistan women's football team striker Shahlyla Baloch died in a car crash here late Wednesday night. She was 20. According to police sources, the incident took place in Defence Phase- VIII when her car hit against a pole near the Emaar building. Baloch was on her way to somewhere from 'Do Darya' along with one of her cousins when she met the unfortunate accident. A striker for Pakistan's Women's Football team, Shahlyla played for the club Balochistan United and the national team as well.
She began to playing football at her age of seven and had honour to receive the FIFA's youngest players' award. Chairman Pakistan People's Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Shahlyla Baloch, the daughter of Senator Rubina Irfan of Balochistan. He offered condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity.
