"New avenues of cooperation between Punjab government and Ministry of Turkey would be open for the development of health sector in Punjab as a result of current visit of eight-member delegation of Turkish Ministry of Health to Punjab." Advisor to Chief Minister on Health, Kh Salman Rafique said this while exchanging views with the visiting Turkish delegation, here on Thursday.
The head of Turkish delegation of Ministry of Health, Dr Selami Kilick gave detail briefing to the Punjab health team regarding Turkish public health service system, mobile health services, home healthcare service for bedridden patients, health tourism, emergency health services, motorcycle emergency service, early disease warning system, immunization of children and provision of medical as well as diagnostic facilities in the hospitals.
In Turkey vaccinators do not visit door to door for vaccination /immunization of children but it is mandatory for parents to bring their children at the health facility/health center for vaccination, he added. Rafique said that Turkish delegation has visited different health facilities in Punjab and medical colleges and the delegation would submit a study report and comparison of Punjab health system and Turkish health system to the Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
He said that recommendations/observations of Turkish delegation would be evaluated technically and financially and different working groups would be constituted for this purpose. He said that Turkish health model would be studied while evolving strategy and planning for introducing further reforms for the improvement of health sector in Punjab.
Secretary Specialised Healthcare & Medical Education Punjab, Najam Ahmed Shah, Secretary Primary & Secondary Health Ali Jan Khan, Chief Operating Officer Punjab Healthcare Commission, Dr Ajmal Khan, Dr Mushtaq Sulehria, Chief Executive Officer Punjab Health Initiatives Management Company, Dr Saira Siddiqui, Project Director PSPU Muhammad Khan Ranjha, Additional Director General IRMNCH Dr Akhtar Rasheed Malik, Deputy Secretary Health & Focal Person Dr Yadullah, Deputy Secretary Medical Education Dr Nasir Shakir, Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Professor Sardar Fakhar Imam, Principal Allama Medical College Professor Mahmood Shaukat and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
