Mohmand Agency Political Agent (PA) Mahmood Aslam Wazir has said that due to vigorous efforts and regular conduct of immunisation campaign, no polio case was reported during last several years in the tribal agency. He praised the security forces for provision of security to polio eradication teams in the region. He was addressing during a cash prizes and certificates distribution ceremony among workers of polio teams for outstanding performance, at Political agent office Ghalanai on Tuesday.
Assistant political agent Haseeb-Ur-Rehman, agency Surgeon Dr Shahad Muhammad, officials of UNICEF, WHO and Education departments and all concerned and discussed the issues pertaining to Polio Eradication in the area. Addressing on the occasion, political agent also urged the parents to cooperate the polio teams so that completely finish the negative agenda against the polio drops in our country. "There are no refusal cases in the entire agency but some peoples who some time reluctant to the polio drops which covered by the polio team in each campaign" said Aslam.
He said that the last campaign was very good in which all the teams achieved 96% target due to the devoted and hard works by the UNICEF,WHO and all the team members and that is why today we are going to presents appreciation certificates. Political agent said that foolproof security have been provided to all the polio teams in the tribal region so that each and every child should administered with polio drops successfully. He said that due to polio disease so many youths and children were disables' who becomes troubles for the whole society as well as for their parents. He urged the local media, elders, Ulema and social workers to aware the general public and play their role in the eradication of polio from Mohmand Agency. At the end of function appreciation certificates and cash prizes were given to the ten numbers of social workers and team members of polio teams who work honestly.
