Lieutenant General Omer Mehmood Hayat, Chairman Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) on Wednesday briefed Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain regarding performance and achievements of POF in the fiscal year 2015-16. The meeting was held in the Ministry of Defence Production, Rawalpindi. Secretary Defence production and other high officials of the Ministry also attended the meeting.
The Minister received the in-depth briefing about the performance of POF. Federal Minister took keen interest in the briefing and raised several questions to further improve and enhance the working of the POF, Wah. The POF Chairman highlighted the achievements of the POF. He expressed that their technicians and engineers were working very hard and achieved the goals of fiscal year 2015-16 despite their limited budget. He praised the professional competence and commitment displayed by POF personnel.
POF Chairman Lieutenant General Omer Mehmood Hayat highlighted that with the help of highly qualified engineers and hardworking and skilled technicians POF, Wah had shown remarkable achievements in cost saving in the development of indigenous projects. Chairman POF mentioned with great pride that the export earnings of POF, Wah had remarkably improved from 22.03 million dollars in fiscal year 2013-2014 to 93.68 million dollars in fiscal year 2015-2016. A total of Rs 25099.401 million was injected in the budget to meet the target demands of the armed forces, he added. The Minister expressed satisfaction over the performance of POF, Wah and assured his all-out efforts for requisite funds to facilitate replacement of old and obsolete machinery.-PR
