The Multan Development Authority (MDA) has declared 175 private housing schemes and colonies illegal here and decided to move their cases to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to protect the interest of common investors. Additional Director General of MDA Altaf Hussain Sariyo confirmed the crackdown and asked the citizens to refrain from buying plots in these colonies. He told journalists here on Wednesday that the action had been initiated. "The action is underway against these illegal schemes and cases are being registered against their owners," he added.
He declared that all the constructions made in these housing schemes either by their owners or the citizens would be demolished. He suggested to the citizens to check the website of MDA before buying any plot in any scheme to get information on illegal housing colonies. He said the owners of these schemes and property dealers deceived the masses by showing that these schemes were approved by the MDA.
He further warned the people that these illegal schemes were without all basic facilities including water, electricity, gas and sewerage system. He said that the owners of some schemes had got approval from MDA for initial planning which had not be considered an approval for setting up a housing scheme.
Giving details of illegal housing schemes, he said that Irfan Colony, Raj Homes, Al-Mustafa Colony, Gulistan Colony, Kehkshan City and Abullah Village on Jahangirabad Road, Falcon City Phase1 and 11, Ashiq Garden, Hussain Garden, Civil Society, Gulshan-e-Faiz, Ahmad City, Omair Town, Hayat Village, Hasban City, Al-Huda Homes, Abdullah Avenue, Arsalan City, Al-makka Town, Alharam City, Golden City, Iqbal LSD and RMHA on Southern By-pass, Iqbal Nagar and Ashiq Elahi City on Sujanpur Road, Bismiallah City, Madni LSD and Shah Town on Piran Ghaib Road, Ahmad Villas, Alshan City, Alkhidmat LSD, Tanver Town, Mir Daad Street, Sundar City, Iqba l LSD, Judicial Land, Gulistan Ahmad and Gulistan Mujtaba on LMQ Road, Green Fort Villas, Boostan Iqbal, Pearl Land and Rahim Land at Mauza Durrana Langana, Malik Nursery, Satellite Homes, Zain Town, Ali Hamza Town, Royal Residency, Saad Village, Awais Town, Gulistan Mehr and Abdullah Town on Nawabpur Road, Kamal Park Avenue, Palm Villas, Fatima Luxury Villas and Yasmeen Villas on Multan Public School Road, Park Labe and Ashiana Town on Bosan Road, New City on Old Shujabad Road, Civil City, Alkhalil Town, Ausaf City, Johar LSD, Plots He Plots, Mustafa Town and New Silver City on Sher Shah Road, Rehman Garden, Jannat Garden, Ahmad Garden and Iqbal Garden in Tibba Masoodpur, Hamid Town on Industrial Road, Model City on Naubahar Canal, Adeel Canal View on Canal Road, Ahmad Garden and Rasheed Homes on Khairpur Miner, Usman Town on Central Jail Road, Manzoor Sharif Town on Sui Gas Road, Alkabeer City, Paradise City, Hameed LSD, New Ibrahim City, Jinnah Garden and Gulshan Rehman on Dunyapur Road, Ali Garden, Fazal Karim Garden and Afzal City on Sooraj Miani Road and Ahmad Bucha Colony on Ghause Azam Road as well as many other schemes were declared illegal.
The Multan Development Authority has launched a grand operation against illegal housing schemes under which cases were registered against owners of 39 schemes, 32 schemes were either completely or partially demolished and 13 were sealed. Additional Director General of Multan Development Authority (MDA) Altaf Hussain Sariyo disclosed here.
