Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in separate meetings with former governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Khan Abbasi and Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman here on Thursday said the PML-N government had always promoted tolerance, decency and unity. Both the leaders met Shahbaz Sharif separately in Lahore and exchanged views on current political situation besides matters of mutual interest.
Sources claimed that Sardar Mehtab shared his views with Shahbaz about countering the protest plan announced by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Islamabad. In this regard, different options were also discussed, they said.
Shahbaz said some political elements were trying to create anarchy in the country only for achieving their narrow political ends but their conspiracies would never succeed. Sharing views with Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman, the CM said that provision of all civic facilities to the people was the mission of the PML-N government. The chief minister said the Punjab government had allocated special quota in jobs for the Gilgit-Balitistan domiciled persons and the scholarships will be awarded to the students of that area.
