Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that provision of missing facilities in public schools and training institutions in Punjab is the first priority of the government of Punjab. Provision of furniture, fully-equipped science labs, establishing computer labs, digital libraries and construction of hostels are priorities of the school education department, he added.
He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the hostel for female teachers at Directorate of Staff Development (DSD), Lahore. Canadian High Commissioner Perry John Calderwood was also present on the occasion. Programme Director DSD Saieed Ramzan, Project Director Pakistan Canada Debt Swap Project (PCDSP) Shagufta Zarren and Deputy Director Planning Dr Anila Hassan also attended the ceremony. The minister said that the 4-storey hostel has been constructed in collaboration with Pak Canada Debt Swap Project (PCDSP) with the cost of Rs 90 million.
