FPCCI elections: BMP, PBG name Rahim Janoo as joint candidate for president's slot
Businessmen Panel (BMP) and Pakistan Business Group (PBG) have nominated Abdul Rahim Janoo as their joint candidate for president's seat in Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry's (FPCCI) elections for the year 2017. The official announcement was made at a dinner hosted by Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, a prominent businessman and Patron-in-Chief ofPBG at his residence.
A number of prominent business leaders from all over Pakistan including Arif Habib, Tariq Sayeed, Sultan Ahmed Chawla, Senator Ghulam Ali, Zakaria Usman, Mehtabuddin Chawla, Mian Anjum Nisar, Mirza Abdul Rehman, Mian Zahid Hussain, Saqib Fayyab Magoon, Fehmida Kausar Jamali, Yahya Polani, Shahnawaz Ishtiaq, Syed Abdul Waheed Shah, Ubaidullah Qadri, Ms. Hina Mansab Khan, Mahmood Moulvi, Rafique Suleman, Haji Abdul Rauf Chappal, Jawed Jillani and others also attended the reception.
Rahim Janoo, while speaking on the occasion, assured the participants to work for enhancing the export of the country, which is the back bone of the economy. "We will consult all the stakeholders and will strive to resolve the pending issues and problems of the business community," he said.
Rafique Suleman, Mian Anjum Nisar, Mirza Abdul Rehaman, Senator Ghulam Ali, Mehtabuddin Chawla, Sultan Ahmed Chawla, ZakariaUsman and Mian Zahid Hussain expressed their views about Rahim Janoo and said that he belonged to a prestigious and noble business family and his late father and elder brother had also served the business community as President Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI). They said that at present business community needed a person who should understand the issues and dynamics of export trade and Rahim Janoo was the best choice for the post of President FPCCI.
