United Business Group (UBG), Businessmen Panel (BMP) and Pakistan Business Group (PBG) have expedited their campaigns for annual election for the year 2017 of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) scheduled to be held on December 30 this year. UBG has nominated former vice president of FPCCI Zubair Tufail as its candidate for the president while BMP and PBG have jointly nominated Abdul Rahim Janoo as their contestant for the top slot of the FPCCI.
These groups claim to have strong position and anticipate landslide victories in the annual election of FPCCI 2017. The groups are holding contact meetings to introduce their nominated candidates. They are also engaged in war of words. Spokesman of United Business Group (UBG) Gulzar Firoz said that those who were maligning chief executive TDAP SM Muneer feared their defeat in the upcoming elections of FPCCI and all members of business community knew their past.
He said UBG was an eligible party of intellectual people of business community. The elected office bearers of current year acted as a bridge between traders and government to solve the issues of business community and continue in upcoming year. He said UBG would push the government to initiate the long term economic planning for the betterment of business community of Pakistan. He asserted that the business community of our country was capable to change the fate of Pakistan and transform it into a prosperous country.
