The profit after tax of Arif Habib Limited has increased to Rs 357.953 million in the quarter ended September 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 132.222 million earned in the corresponding quarter in 2015. The board of directors of the company, in its meeting held here on Friday declared that the company's earning per share has surged to Rs 6.51 in the period under review against Rs 2.40 in the same period last year.
According to the financial results, the company's operating revenue increased to Rs 202.628 million in this quarter against Rs 153.208 million in the same period last year while the capital gain on sale of short term investments stood at Rs 21.495 million against Rs 39.649 million. Unrealised gain on re-measurement of short term investments increased to Rs 259.244 million against Rs 22.203 million. The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 377.791 million in this quarter against Rs 162.504 million in the same quarter last year.
