Federal Minister for Industries and Production Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi on Friday inaugurated 'Handmade in Pakistan' exhibition at the Heritage Museum. In this exhibition, handmade products by Pakistani crafts persons from all provinces were put on display which showed their cultural richness and traditional craftsmanship.
The exhibition organised in collaboration with 'Center for Culture and Development', government of Denmark, will continue till October 23. Proceeds from the exhibition will be used for further skill development of artisans. Chairperson AHAN Shireen Arshad Khan also visited the exhibition. A spokesman of AHAN said the organisation is operating under the ministry of industries and production.
The AHAN facilitates rural craft persons, artisans and poor producer groups in accessing services such as skill trainings, product development, quality assurance and marketing of handmade traditional handicraft/products. So far, around 30,000 male and female artisans and craft persons have benefited from AHAN programmes, he added.
