Police on Friday claimed that they have arrested 115 wanted criminals and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from their oppression during ongoing strike and search operations against anti-social elements in various areas of district Mardan.
Addressing a news conference in district Mardan, superintendent police (SP)- Operation, Shafiullah Khan Gandapoor said that on the special directives of district police officer (DPO) Fasial Shahzad, several crackdown team headed by deputy superintendent of police (DSPs) of different circles were constituted under in his supervision. He said that the raiding team in a grand operation against outlaws in Mardan arrested gang members of a robbery gang identified as Ejaz, Lalzada and Salman.
Police have also recovered pistol, seven tola of gold, motorbike and Rs 1, 26,000 from them looted in different robbery incident in the limits of Ghari Kapura police station. Shafiullah Khan added that police also arrested 115 proclaimed offenders (POs) wanted to local police in different cases in the current month.
He added that in the ongoing search and strike operation police also recovered 9 Klasankov rifles, 2 Kalakov rifles, 5 rifles, 87 pistols, 16976 rounds, 50 kg of hashish, 2, 83000 rupees looted money, 9 tola of gold ornaments, 4 mobiles sets, and 3 snatched motorbikes from the arrest criminals. During the operation police also checked unregistered houses and registered cases against 95 unregistered houses renters." Separate cases have been lodged against the said criminals in different police station and further investigations were underway in this regard", he added.
