Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development & Management Company (KPEZDMC) Friday handed over plot allotment letters to 29 industrialists for establishment of factories in Hattar Special Economic Zone, at district Haripur. The possession of plots was given to Industrialists hailing from diverse sectors including Engineering, Packaging, food, Marble & Granite, Steel, Food Process & Packaging, Mineral Grinding, Electronics, Pharmaceuticals, Chemical, Plastic and ware housing.
The industrialists have been selected on the basis of their feasibility plan and ability to start production in maximum period of 2 years. The event is a huge breakthrough for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The company has started with the objective of promoting industrialisation in the Province by providing lucrative incentives to draw investment in the this region which, unfortunately, has suffered on the economic front for a long time due a multitude of reasons including the unstable security situation and, lack of government support among others.
Addressing the ceremony, Special Assistant to KP CM for Industries, Abdul Karim Khan appreciated the efforts of the team and said that KPEZDMC has been successful in not only drawing industrialists towards investment in KP but has delivered its promises by facilitating all the operations related to this Economic Zone.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) KPEZDMC, Mohsin Syed said that the successful operation of the Hattar Special Economic Zone will enable the Company to replicate the Hattar model in other parts of the province and fast track the mission of provincial development. He said that the Hattar Special Economic Zone will generate 30,000 jobs and bring 30 billion investments to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The formal commencement of the industrial work in the zone will be commemorated by an allotment ceremony to all the plot holders who will be starting the construction work on their industries shortly. Initially, forty factories are starting construction work covering ninety acres of land.
