Minister of State and Chairman Privatisation Commission Muhammad Zubair has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)'s plan of shutting down Islamabad on November 2 is tantamount to revolt against the state.
"It is a revolt to shutdown the state functions forcefully. Imran Khan wants to topple the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government through anarchy," Muhammad Zubair claimed while addressing a news conference on Sunday.
He said PTI Chief Imran Khan and other party leaders are threatening to force the government not to function. They also announced that they will not allow opening of schools and business centres, depriving the citizens of their basic constitutional rights, he said.
The Minister said that PTI Chief is doing politics of agitation and creating chaos and anarchy in the country.
He said the government will ensure that the constitutional rights of the people of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are not trampled by PTI, and the state institutions continue to their function.
He said PTI knows well that the present government will also win the next general elections because of its performance; therefore, it is resorting to the politics of violence and arson.
The Chairman Privatisation Commission said Imran Khan demands accountability, but he never held himself accountable for the acts he asks others to explain. He said Imran Khan has been involved in money-laundering, tax evasion, and Benami transactions for thirty-three years.
Zubair said that he would present evidence of money laundering of Imran Khan during the hearing in Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). He claimed that Imran Khan had established offshore company in the name of Niazi Limited Service in 1983 in London but he never showed it in tax returns or statement submitted to the ECP till 2015. He said that Imran remained secret the offshore company for 33 years while the Panama Papers has been made public before it.
The Minister of State said Imran Khan's tax returns showed that he earned less than one hundred thousand rupees from 1981 to 1983, but he purchased a flat at twenty thousand pounds in Britain in 1983. He said Imran Khan must explain how he transferred amount from Pakistan for purchasing the flat.
He said that why Imran Khan had remained secret offshore company till 2015 and did not tell about it to the nation. He also claimed that Imran Khan also remained secret a flat in London and sell it and whitened his black money in 2000 after a scheme introduced by then President General Pervez Musharraf.
He asked Imran Khan to disclose the earning source with which he bought Banni Gala residence at 350 million rupees. He said Imran Khan also got a flat booked in Grand Heights in Islamabad in 2014, but that too had no mention in his tax returns.
Muhammad Zubair said Imran Khan demands accountability, but he never held himself accountable for the acts he asks others to explain. He said Imran Khan has been involved in money-laundering, tax evasion, and Benami transactions for thirty-three years.
He said Imran Khan should first answer to these questions, and then demand for accountability from others.
