President Pakistan Peoples Party Sindh chapter, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that the PPP fully believes to resolve the issues of the country through democratic process and if any one tried to launch non-political activities which could harmful to the democracy, the party would fully resist any undemocratic attempt. Khuruo, who is also provincial minister for food and parliamentary affairs, said this while talking to media persons during his visit to Hyderabad Press Club on Monday. Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister on Information Moula Bux Chandio and Special Assistant to Sindh CM on Irrigation, babar Effendi were also present on the occasion.
He said that the PPP fulfilled its commitment which it made with the people of the country during the MRD Movement for restoring the 1973 Constitution in its original shape with provincial autonomy to provinces. In this struggle, the party leaders and workers faced tortures and sacrificed their lives but never compromised on democracy, he added.
He castigated the politics of PTI Chief Imran Khan, adding that by appreciating the era of Pervez Musharraf, he failed to wash away the label of being the part of the B Team of the former ruler and he has no right to do politics by holding responsible the government of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif if third force came to power. The PTI Chief is habitual of taking U turns from his statements, he added.
About the MQM, Khuhro said that it has been divided in different factions and even the party parliamentarians have also announced disassociation with the party founder. About allegations and counter allegations of former MQM leaders, he said that being Nazim Karachi, Mustafa Kamal was 'the king' during the rule of Pervez Musharraf and his silence for many years on such corrupt practices is posing several questions. Responding to a question, he informed that the process of reorganising the party is in progress and efforts are being made to organise the party at grass root level.
Khuhro express his deep grief and shock on the demise of veteran politician Syed Qamaruz Zaman Shah and said that he was the asset of party and his services would be long remembered. Among others, PPP leaders Khursheed Junejo, Dr Irfan Gul Magsi, Fayez Shah, Pasha Qazi, Barkat Babbar, Najeeb Abro and Eng Sikandar Hayat were also present on the occasion.
