Director Panasonic Middle East Nakano Yasushi on Tuesday said that Pakistan had huge strategic market for Panasonic products. Talking to media persons at the opening ceremony of first-ever 'SE Digital Showroom' setup in the city's Sharafabad area he said that to its high quality and durable products, Panasonic was in great demand and currently being used by consumers around the globe.
"We are one of the largest product manufacturers and now we have formally entered into Pakistani market with opening of this SE digital Showroom here. Initially, we are aiming at setting up similar facilities in big cities such as Lahore and Islamabad. I hope we shall do great business as people of this country trust and like our products." he said.
Refusing to disclose the total Panasonic business volume in the country, he said it was growing as Pakistan was one of the strategic markets for their various products. To another query he said that for the time being he had no idea about Panasonic's futuristic investment plans such as setting up plants in Gwadar in the context of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CEPC). However, Kamran Pitafi, senior manager Panasonic Pakistan said that as far as CEPC was concerned, the CPEC itself was a big confidence booster for all those doing business in Pakistan especially for overseas companies.
"Currently we are not having any local manufacturing /assembler in the country, but with all the quality products from various factories we are sending in Pakistan, we believe that we shall get good results." he said. "From the viewpoint of the consumer investment, we are coming up with various retailer shops as investment is coming on this front and you will see consumer activities here," he said optimistically. Faisal Ikram, Business Development Manager SE International Pvt Ltd and others were also present.
