Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday inaugurated breast cancer centre at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad. Addressing the ceremony, he said the government provided funds to establish a state-of-the-art cancer hospital in Islamabad, adding the provision of best health care facilities to the people of country is the priority of the government.
He said this is the first cancer centre in Pakistan which will provide modern apparatus and state of the art treatment facilities to the common man. This will not only help to diagnose disease but will also ensure proper cure through timely treatment," the minister added.
Ahsan Iqbal maintained that unfortunately Pakistan falls among countries where breast cancer is spreading rapidly. Women's health is a major concern for the government and utmost efforts are afoot to improve their health conditions for secure future.
