Unknown armed men on Wednesday attacked a polio team in Khyber Agency's Jamrud area, killing a polio worker on Wednesday. As per details, polio team was in the area of Jamrud Teshil to vaccinate anti-polio drops to children when unknown armed persons opened fire on them. As result, a worker critically injured in the gun attack. The injured polio worker was taken to the Hayatabad Medical Complex where he succumbed to his injuries. The deceased was identified as Fazal Amin of Sikandar Khal, sub-tribe of Koki Khel.
It is to be stated here that last years a female polio worker and numbers of Khasadar and Levies troops have been targeted in the area during polio campaign.
