PTI leader on Wednesday approached the Lahore High Court against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif seeking his disqualification for alleged involvement of his family members in offshore business. The petitioner, Jahangir Khan Tareen, submitted that Panama leaks revealed massive corruption and involvement of the ruling family in money laundering.
According to him, the PM has no ground to hold public office after the Panama leaks as he dos not qualify to be member of the parliament under Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution. The petitioner said a reference was moved to the Speaker NA against PM Nawaz Sharif but he, instead of referring it to the ECP, dismissed the reference. The petitioner, therefore, prayed the court to set aside the order of NA speaker regarding reference against the PM and order ECP to declare the PM as disqualified.
