Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria on Thursday declared that India was using Afghan soil for terror activities inside Pakistan, as security forces had detected signals of the terrorists' connections in Afghanistan during the recent attack on police training centre in Quetta. Talking to reporters here at Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Studies (PIPS), Zakaria said in the past too, Afghan soil has been used against Pakistan and the Afghan government should ensure that no one should use its soil for terrorist activities inside Pakistan.
"Our security officials have explained that when the siege [in Quetta] was underway, they had intercepted signals that showed communication was made and the terrorists were getting directions from Afghanistan," he said, adding Pakistan has repeatedly conveyed to Afghan government that its soil is being used against Pakistan and also demanded effective steps to stop using of its soil against Pakistan.
In this connection, he stated that the confessional statement by the arrested RAW agent Kulbhushan Yadav was an irrefutable proof with Pakistan. He said that former US Defence secretary Chuck Hagel in 2013 had explained in detail about the Indian terror financing against Pakistan from Afghanistan. Similarly, he added that Indian authorities at the highest level have recently issued statements with regard to interference in Balochistan that show the Indian designs for creating instability in the province.
To a question about Indian request for access to Yadav, the spokesperson said that Pakistan and India had signed a special agreement on consular access in 2008 which explains the situation under which the access is granted. "India has requested the access but the investigation from Yadav is still underway and appropriate decision would be taken at appropriate time," he added.
About the dossier with regard to Kulbhushan Yadav's confessional statement, he said that work was still underway on the dossier and would be shared with international community at an appropriate time. Earlier, addressing a seminar in connection with "Kashmir Back Day" organized by Youth Parliamentarian Forum in collaboration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zakaria said that India was disparately making efforts to divert world's community attention from the Indian security forces' atrocities in the occupied Kashmir and the continued human rights violations.
He gave presentation from the book "Kashmir - A Disputed Legacy 1846 - 1990" by a renowned author Alastair Lamb, who stated that the Princely State of Jammu and Kashmir, on all counts, should have formed part of Pakistan. Geographically, he added that it was bound by Pakistan from all sides, adding Kashmir was connected to the outside world through Pakistan and its trade routes and supplies depended on Pakistan, hence a reason for signing of the standstill agreement between Pakistan and Kashmir.
He pointed out that Alastair Lamb gives a detailed description of the circumstances in his earlier mentioned book on Kashmir, in Chapter VII Accession 1947, pages 121 to 140. It is worth reading to realise that Instrument of Accession was never signed and that Indian intervention was unlawful and a matter of bad faith and fraud, he said while reading from the book.
Strongly condemning the ongoing Indian security forces atrocities against defenceless Kashmiris, he said that Pakistan will continue extending moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He also called upon the international community to take notice of the Indian atrocities in the occupied Kashmir and fulfill its obligation to implement the UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir dispute.
He further said that through escalation of tension at the LoC and Working Boundary, India was diverting attention from the situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Audio messages of senior Kashmiri leaders including Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mir Waiz Omar Farooq were also played on the occasion recorded during their detention in Srinagar by the Indian forces.
The Kashmiri leaders, in their messages, expressed their resolve to continue their strugglers for the just right of self-determination of the people of Kashmir despite continued Indian atrocities. They also thanked the people and government of Pakistan for extending support to the freedom struggles of the Kashmiri people. Mishal Hussain Malik, wife of the Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, highlighted the plight of Kashmir women in the ongoing struggles, saying that currently the freedom struggle in the occupied Kashmir was proactively fighting by the women as leadership and men are either in detention or they have been subjected to forced disappearances.
She said that people were being subjected to extra judicial killings while thousands of youth have been subjected to forced disappearances and the women are being rapped on daily basis. She called upon the world community to take practical steps to stop Indian atrocities instead of issuing just statements. She maintained that her husband Yasin Malik was injected with poison and his life was extremely under the threat from the Indian State. She also called upon the international community and the Foreign Office to take appropriate measures to give best medical treatment to her husband.
