Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar called on Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Thursday night, a private TV channel claimed. The channel said that the meeting took place at the residence of the Army Chief. It said that during the meeting, the prevailing situation of the country and other important national issues came under discussion.
Though there was no word from the government, the ISPR in a late night statement said that the government delegation comprising Shehbaz Shairf, Chaudhry Nisar and Ishaq Dar met the Army Chief on Thursday evening. It said that during the meeting the government delegation briefed Army Chief about the October 6 "news" leak that caused a national security breach.
Meanwhile, in another development, a heavy contingent of Frontier Constabulary (FC) cordoned off the PTI chief's Banigala residence for a brief period late Thursday night. However, the paramilitary troops retreated after staying for a brief period outside Imran's Banigala residence.
