Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has said that nobody would be allowed to rollback the peace efforts of law enforcement agencies to bring stability in the Karachi. He was addressing "13th CEO Asia 2016, the Best Leadership Award" and launch of a book titled '100 Best CEOs', organised by CEO Club here at a local hotel on Thursday.
The Governor Sindh said the city is now heading towards economic stability. With the efforts of the prime minister and the chief minister Sindh, he said, Karachi has been put on the path of economic development. Federal Minister for Privatization Mohammad Zubair has said that Pakistan needs to create enabling environment with neighbouring countries for economic stability and prosperity of country.
"You have to pay economic price for not having good relations with regional countries," he said. "We have to improve security and energy situations besides attaining regional peace is crucial for the economic uplift in Pakistan," he added. He also lauded the performance of private sector, saying that private organizations have produced remarkable growth to boost economy.
He said public run entities like PIA, Pakistan Steel Mills and others have consistently been in loss due to the incompetence of management. "PIA has never been a profit-making entity since 1967," he said. He said public sector organisation do not have mechanism of performance evaluation to meet the standards of merit.
On China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Zubair said project should be considered peace agreement than economic agreement. He said economic prosperity is crucial for stability in Pakistan. He said CPEC would prove milestone for economic development in Pakistan.
