Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council and member of National Assembly, Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani has announced on behalf of federal government that there would be no loadshedding in the Hindu-majority districts of Sindh, including Tharparkar, Thatta and Badin, on the occasion of Diwali festival. Talking to a local Hindu delegation, Dr Ramesh Vankwani also assured to provide relief in other parts to some extent.
He said that Diwali reminded the victory of good over evil. "Our government is committed to overcome the ongoing energy crisis," he said, adding the government would overcome the chronic issue of power shortage and loadshedding before the end of its tenure in 2018. Dr Ramesh Vankwani also appealed to the Hindu community for special prayers on the occasion of Diwali for peace, progress and well-being of Pakistan. Pakistani Hindus will celebrate the festival on October 30 (Sunday).
