Senate body for domicile verification of government servants from Balochistan
Senate Functional Committee on Less Developed Areas has directed to get verified the domicile of those officers and staff working in various government departments on quota of Balochistan from the concerned districts. The meeting of the committee was held under the Chairmanship of Senator Usman Kakar which recommended setting up oil refinery in Karak and overcoming low press of gas in Quetta, Ziarat, Pishin, Kalat and other areas till November.
The meeting also reviewed the implementation on recommendations of the previous meeting held on April 27. The Senate body was told that gas in areas of Kalat, Ziarat is being supplied and gas connections are also being provided on first come-first serve basis. It was told that issue of gas pressure has been resolved in Kalat and it would be resolved in Ziarat till November.
The Functional Committee expressed its concerns over provision of contaminated water in Sibi and Chaghi. It also asked for release of Rs One billion for gas provision in areas of FATA as committed in 2010. The committee was briefed by General Manager OGRA Abdul Rauf about the development projects initiated in FATA and less developed areas of four provinces. The meeting of the committee was attended by Senators Sardar Muhammad Azam Khan Musakhel, Dr Jehanzeb Jamal Dini, Khalida Perveen, Gian Chand and Additional Secretary Petroleum Furqan Bahadur, MD OGRA Zahid Mir, GM OGRA Abdul Rauf and other senior officials.
