Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaquat Baloch has announced to fully support movement of the growers to get their issues resolved besides supporting all institutions and segments of the society for eliminating corruption and injustices. He was speaking to media persons on Friday after taking oath from new office-bearers of the Kissan Board Pakistan (KBP).
Speaking on this occasion, KBP President Chaudhry Nisar Ahmad and Secretary General Arsalan Khan Khakwani said that sugar, cotton and rice millers were bent upon depriving the growers of their hard earned money. Sugarcane, paddy, cotton, tobacco and vegetables were purchased from the farmers on throw away prices causing them loss of billions of rupees. They claimed that the growers were also being fleeced by the officials of the police, revenue, canal and agriculture departments while fertilizer, pesticide and seed companies were also looting the rural population.
